Chinese Taipei players perform dance routine, then go on to win U-12 Baseball World Cup!

TAINAN, Taiwan — The Chinese Taipei U-12 squad made an unprecedented move just minutes before the start of the Final of the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup 2019 against top-ranked Japan at Asia-Pacific International Stadium on Sunday, 4 August.

The team carried out a choreographed dance routine that went viral across Taiwan and social media.

The game was broadcast live across Taiwan, for more than 20 million fellow citizens to witness, so the Chinese Taipei players had to get it right, and they did.

After dancing, Chinese Taipei went on to shut out rivals Japan, 4-0, to win the U-12 Baseball World Cup and claim the world crown for the second time.

The Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CTBA) confirmed the boys practiced the dance routine for a full month before taking it onto the world’s biggest stage for 12-year-old baseball players. Chinese Taipei U-12 manager Kuo-Chiang Lee made his players practice and perform the routine to build team chemistry and spirit.

New Zealand National Teams perform the haka before their matches — let’s see if this becomes a growing trend.
