After Day 2 of the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup, four teams remain undefeated: Japan and Chinese Taipei in group A; Korea and Venezuela in group B.

The surprise of Day 2 came from group B. Venezuela beat, 7-6, the United States. After entering the last inning with a comfortable 7-2 lead, Venezuela committed two defensive errors and gave the defending World Champions a chance for a comeback.

Mexico beat Italy, 1-0, in the other close game played in group B. In the first inning, Mexico took advantage of a defensive error to score the only run of the game.

For the second day in a row, Korea didn’t allow a run. Korea beat Australia, 13-0, without allowing a single hit. Third baseball Lee Jaejun once again starred, batting in the first run and opening the score with a home run.

Japan confirmed on top of group A after Day 2. The young Samurai shut-out, 6-0, Cuba, playing great defence behind their brilliant pitchers. Center fielder Rui Akazawa made a key play in the top of the second inning.

The host National Team Chinese Taipei remains tied with Japan after beating South Africa, 19-0.

There’s also not too much to say about the win that the Czech Republic recorded against Fiji, 30-1.
